The majority of procedures we perform are colorectal resections. The reason for operation in most patients is colorectal cancer, but other disorders like diverticulosis, Crohns disease or colitis ulcerosa are operated also with robot assistence. About 80% of the cases are rectal cases. The reason is that we believe that in rectal cases the advantages of robot operations are the most evident.
Pancreatic surgery involves an organ that is surrounded by and adherent to several other organs and important structures. In case of cancer almost always a multi-organ resection is indicated. To prevent damage of the delicate structures concerned, robot assisted surgery is an important adjunct.
HIATAL HERNIA AND REFLUX SURGERY
Hiatal hernia surgery is prone to recurrence. By use of the robot platform we try to be very precise with stitching and fixation of the hiatal defect.
Adrenal surgery with the robot has the advantage to operate laparoscopically on larger adrenal gland tumours than in conventional laparoscopic surgery. The stable operation field is in our opinion an important risk reducing factor in operations of pheochromocytoma. VIDEO RIGHT ADRENALECTOMY
